Company A of the Maryland National Guard's 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment were welcomed home on Monday April 21, 2008 by members and staff from United Fire Company. Personnel from the Frederick City Police, Frederick County Sheriff's Office, and Montgomery County Police also provided a grand welcome home for the 175th. A procession which started at the Frederick County line proceeded downtown, ending up at Harry Grove Stadium where family and friends gathered to welcome home loved ones. The 175th Infantry Regiment which had deployed to Iraq approximately a year ago returned home safely in Frederick. Personnel from United Fire Company are honored to have assisted in the welcome home efforts.
