Motor Vehicle Crash on the Golden Mile at McCain Drive

A 5-car crash sent 4 persons to the hospital, one to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, shortly before 8:00 a.m. this morning. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the City of Frederick Police Department.
The occupant in one of the vehicles required the roof and door of the vehicle to be removed in order to gain access. A rescue squad from Junior Fire Company used a come-a-long to move another vehicle that was sandwiched between two cars and had to remove the door in order to gain access to the occupant.
In total, 3 persons were transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The person taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore was reported to be in serious condition.
