Fire and rescue units were dispatched to the Suntrust Bank on N. Market Street yesterday evening after bank employees reported a haze of smoke inside of the bank.
Fire and rescue personnel checked the building, including the roof. The source of the odor and haze of smoke could not be determined; however, the HVAC and electrical equipment was isolated and the smoke dissipated. The building was ventilated with a fan and Suntrust maintenance personnel were contacted.
The County Fire Marshal was notified and on the scene to handle code enforcement issues.
