Companies 3 and 1 were alerted for a vehicle fire, reportedly on Interstate 70 in the eastbound lanes at the Route 340 split. Safety 901 was the first arriving unit reporting the dispatched location as Interstate 70 eastbound on the bridge over Interstate 270. Chief 3-1 arrived on the scene reporting fire in the engine compartment. Rescue Engine 11 arrived and the crew extended their bumper line, a 100 ft. 1 ¾" attack line. Engine 31 arrived and the crew assisted Rescue Engine 11's crew with extinguishment. Maryland State Police was on the scene as well. Crews completed a short amount of overhaul and were placed in service by Chief 3-1 as ready.
