Company 31 units along with Rescue Squad 3 were alerted for a vehicle collision on English Muffin Way in the area of Wedgewood Blvd. Company 31 units arrived to find a rear end collision with one vehicle off the roadway in the grass. Units began to assess the patient and to stabilize the vehicle. Chief 3-1 arrived on the scene. The crews' assessment determined the need for Advanced Life Support. Rescue Squad 3 arrived on the scene to continue stabilizing the vehicle. Advanced Life Support arrived and determined the patient to be a candidate for aerial medivac to a trauma referral center. Crews utilized hydraulic tools to remove the vehicle's roof and driver's side doors. This was in an effort to gain the maximum access to the patient. Upon extrication, the patient was further evaluated by personnel on the scene and then taken to the Maryland State Police's Aviation Division for transport to a local specialty facility.
