December 17, 2009
At 1313hrs, E331 and Rescue Squad 3 were dispatched on the Task Force Assignment to assist Howard County Box 4-10 990 Ridge Road for a working house fire. The units above went en route along with C3-2, units switched over to Howard County communications for further information. C3-2 arrived on scene and reported to Command, at this time the incident was in a defensive stage with exterior operations. C3-2 did a 360 of the residence and reported back to Command with a plan of action. With heavy fire in the attic and 2nd floor, C3-2 along with E331, RS3 and Carroll County Rescue 1 made an aggressive interior attack to bring the fire under control. After approx. 15 minutes of opening up the 2nd floor and two lines in operation the bulk of the fire was knocked down , and units continued to hit hot spots. C3-2 was assigned division 2 and reported crews will need to be circulated through to continue overhaul and opening up. The crews on Division 2 were sent to rehab and then reentered after a short break to finish hitting hots spots and opening-up. Command reported fire out holding several units to finish up and placing E331, RS3 and C3-2 in service. Good job by crews on the interior of the fire building.
