By Officer John Arnold
May 22, 2009

A mid morning fire brought E31 on the intial alarm along with RS3 on the safety for the working house fire in Walkersville. Chief 1 "Handley" arrived 1st and went on the scene with smoke showing and confirmed the working fire. E31, the 4th due engine company, arrived 2nd and completed the water supply for E22, the 2nd due engine, that arrived 1st. The crew from E22 pulled a 200ft 1-3/4 line to the Alpha Side entrance and made a aggresive interior attack on the fire in the rear mud room of the home. E31's crew pulled the 2nd attack line and went to the 2nd floor to check for extention and perform ventilation. The fire was knocked in a matter of seconds and units were released a short time later. RS3 was alerted on the safety and handled RIT functions on the fire ground. Duty 3 also on the call helped with locating the fire and ventilating on the 1st floor.
