Just before lunch United Westview Station 31 along with Urbana fire Co.23 and Rescue Engine 11 were alerted for a crash on I-270 with patients trapped. As units marked on the air Duty 3 was advised by communications they had received multiple calls with people trapped in the vehicle and possibly one ejected. Due to the information received duty 3 requested a Rescue Squad be added to the assignment. Duty 3 arrived on scene and advised there were 2 patients trapped in the vehicle and 1 patient was a priority 2. Duty 3 established I-270 command. ME-311 and M-319 arrived a short time later and started stabilizing the vehicle and imitated patient care. RE-11 arrived and completed the extrication by removing the passenger side door and removing the B post on the driver's side. Both patients were removed and transported to area hospitals for evaluations.
