At approx. 1100 hrs, A39 was dispatched for an injured person at 256 West Patrick Street. A39 arrived with a single patient on the third floor of a residential building. Due to the patients condition, A39 requested assistance bringing RS3 to the scene. RS3 arrived and surveyed the situation, and due to narrow stairway RS3 requested E31 for manpower to assist. E31 and C3-2 arrived, C3-2 had a face to face with the unit officer from RS3 and determined the safest way to remove the patient from the third floor was the balcony on the "Charlie" side of the building. C3-2 requested Tower 1 and ALS for pain management. Tower 1 arrived and positioned on the " Charlie " side of the building as RS3 and E31 packaged the patient in the stokes basket for removal. The patient was loaded on the platform of Tower 1 and lowered to the ground, and transported to FMH by M319. C3-2 placed units in service, overall very good job by all personnel on the scene, this is the first incident with the new stokes equipment recently placed on RS3.
