By Chief Officer Jerry Dorsey
January 31, 2009

Effective this morning at 0600. A pilot program will begin at Fire Station 31 utilizing an ALS transport unit and an ALS first response fire apparatus (AFRA). M-319 will be staffed 24/7 as a transporting unit and will be the primary ALS response unit from FS 31. The staffing will be 1:1 configuration pairing an ALS provider with an BLS provider. ME-311 will respond to any area in the County as selected by CAD. The staffing will be increased to four personnel, which one will be an ALS provider. In the event of a shortage of ALS providers in the County, ME-311 will return to a BLS unit and the ALS provider will be rellocated. This will be for a 6 month trial basic.

Medic 33

Medic 33 will be placed in service as a chase car responding from FS 33. This will be a leave impact unit also.
