Career Plans

Enjoy retirement.

Why did you join the fire department?

I became interested through the scouts. My uncle was a driver for United Fire Company and my father was a member at Junior Fire Company and a driver for Citizens Truck Company. He was also a firefighter with the Fort Detrick Fire Department, I guess you can say it was in my blood.

What are your hobbies and/or interests outside of the fire department?

Traveling, cruising, golf, trap and skeet shooting, fishing, and making the best of my retirement.

What do you like best about being part of the fire department?

Being able to help other people, the friends you make, and the satisfaction it brings you.

What is your most memorable incident?

There are many but the YMCA fire is one that stands out.

Fire Department Training Classes

Many.
