Volunteers hosted a child's birthday party at the S. Market Street station on Saturday afternoon.

Members provided the children with a discussion on fire prevention, a tour of the fire station, and show and tell of the apparatus. The children were able to get an up close look at the fire engines, rescue squad and ambulances and the equipment that is carried on each.

Firefighter/Technician Rob Lamoureux described to the children the protective equipment that is worn by firefighters while Firefighter/EMT Jeana Panarella demonstrated donning the turnout gear and self-contained breathing apparatus. The children were shown what a firefighter will look like with all of their protective equipment worn.

The event was a huge success for the children and the parents!
