Members Participate in Stair Climb to Honor Fallen Firefighters

United Steam Fire Engine Company No. 3 volunteer Firefighters Michael Hayden and Derek Graham participated in a stair climb at Warrior Stadium in Gettysburg on Sunday to honor those Firefighters who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and to raise funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Association.

Over 100 participants climbed each step in the bleachers 30 times to equal the World Trade Center's 110 stories. Firefighters Hayden and Graham wore their complete turnout gear, including self-contained breathing apparatus while climbing the stairs. A lanyard that had a picture and biographical sketch of one of the fallen Firefighters was worn by each participant.
