Right around midnight box alarm 3-3 was struck for the fire in a duplex at 315 east Second St. First arriving, Engine 22 went on the scene with smoke showing from side alpha and fire showing from side charlie. Chief 2-2 arrived to assume the second street command and requested the rapid intervention dispatch along with the 2nd alarm. Engine 12 and Tower 1 arrived to position on side charlie. The engine crew stretched the 300' and crosslay to assist with interior operations on the charlie side. The tower begin opening up the bravo, charlie, and delta windows and then went to the roof to vertically vent. The canteen was added to the call shortly after the 2nd alarm was requested. The fire was knocked down after about 45 minutes. Command held the first alarm to complete overhaul and to pick up. The command was terminated and all units returned to service around 0330 hours.
