Just after lunch, Emergency Communications alerted Frederick County units for a working house fire on Stone Road in the 12-16 box area (Braddock Heights). Company 12 units arrived on scene to find a working house fire. Command was established and the Incident Commander requested a Rapid Intervention Dispatch along with a Tanker Task Force.

The dispatch of these extra assignments brought Engine 31, Rescue Squad 3, and Duty 3 from quarters. Personnel from Company 3 staged in the front yard on Side A of the fire building with hand tools and RIT equipment after being assigned as the RIT crew. The crew made several laps of the building during suppression operations looking for signs of building failure, egress points, and to gain familiarity of crew and hose line placement. After attack crews brought the fire under control, the RIT Team from Company 3 returned to their normal engine and rescue squad duties to assist with salvage and overhaul.
