| A fire caused heavy damage to a home under construction in the new Linton at Ballenger subdivision off Elmer Derr Road late Tuesday night, according to the Frederick County Fire and Rescue Division.
Firefighters responded to Switzer Barn Lane about 10:30 p.m. and found the home and a nearby Dumpster engulfed in flames, Battalion Chief Mike Dmuchowski said.
About 20 firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes. The fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damages, officials said.
Investigators believe the fire was set intentionally, Battalion Chief Mike Dmuchowski. No injuries were reported.
