Just as the downtown crews settled in for the evening, the famous 3 beeps dropped for the working house fire in Box Area 2-3. E22 arrived on location and reported normal conditions from the alpha side but as the officer from E22 completed the 360 degree check of the building, fire was located in the rear of the home. Crews deployed lines and the attack was made. Rescue Squad 3 and Engine 31 arrived to assume the search and rescue and 2nd engine company assignments respectively. The fourth due engine, Engine 311, had a quick response and arrived third taking the rear assignment. Crews worked well together and extinguished the fire with no reported injuries and minimal damage to the home. Crews operated for just over a hour as the FM's office completed there investigation. Command began releasing units a short time later. Chief 2-1 held the command.
Many thanks to E231 from Urbana and A79 from Middletown for the station fill.
